NWN offers Unified Communications, or UC, to simplify and integrate all forms of communications through software programs and infrastructure enhancements. Communication methods in UC include phone, email, chat, voicemail and fax. UC allows an individual to send or receive a message on one medium and receive it on another. For example, those in your company can receive a voice mail message and then hear it in their email inbox using a UC program.

The communications leveraged by this term can include phone, email, instant messaging, voice mail and fax. NWN clients have benefited from increased communications, improved productivity, more timely communications and less dependency on numerous devices.
